Sure, let’s go to the outdoor markets in the RAIN..!

I packed my camera because I thought that this would be too good to miss. And I was right. That photo above was my first photo of the day. Capturing hubby coming to join me in the car. Yes, it was raining that hard. And we were still going. Though I had procured a promise of a hot breakfast afterwards.

The markets are held fortnightly at a local school grounds. And are usually super popular. Today though it was basically deserted. Only us and a few hardcore shoppers. The rain was still coming down, but not as heavily as it had been before. We each grabbed an umbrella, some cash and set about getting the things on our lists.

And with an entrance that looked like this, who could blame everyone else for not coming. I wish I hadn’t come but hubby is one determined puppy though when he gets his mind stuck on something. So I went and got the fruit and vegies. My thongs stuck in the mud so many times I kicked them off and carried them. Quickly I returned to the car triumphant only to find Hubby was not yet back. And Hubby had the car keys.

But when he looked this adorable coming back, how could I stay cranky at this little adventure we shared. We laughed a lot. The store vender’s laughed even more I think. It was a great way to start a rainy Sunday.

And finally. Back in the car, semi dry and still laughing hubby pointed the car towards the local shopping centre where we had some eggs and wedges and coffee and doughnuts and coke zero. Not all at once, of course. Over the span of the rest of the day as we completed {Yay} our Christmas shopping. And later, we went home for a nap. Because that is the other thing you do on a rainy Sunday, of course.
So, what did you do today? And did you get any sunshine at all. Please tell me the sun came out somewhere. I am beginning to believe that it may never come back again.

  1. The sun was out 'here', actually it was pretty much a perfect sunshine-y day but wouldn't you know it I had my head over a toilet bowl or bucket for most of it (for the record it was NOT self inflicted) ;)

  2. It was a beautiful clear blue sky sunny day over in the west today.A lovely breeze blowing by late afternoon, which we needed after a hot 36 degrees! And this week is going to be picture perfect again, with temps in the high 20's, low 30's.~x~
