After making it to bed around three this morning we arose at 7am to get ready and drive to my cousin’s daughters christening. It was a beautiful day to go for a drive today. Stunning blue skies. Light breeze. There was plenty of fun and food to be had before we hit the road again on our way to Brisbane for lunch with Sam & Lisa of Renovating Italy.
I was looking forward to lunch. Big time. We had told Sam that we’re not fussy eaters and left the rest up to him. We arrived empty handed and with caffeine zinging through our overtired systems. We were told to expect lasagna. Yay. One of my all time favourite things. However before we even got onto that we had olives and brushcetta and apricot cheese and capsicum. I also had 2 litres of water.
The lasagna was awesome and the mango and baby leaf salad was to die for. By this stage I was about ready to explode. But for a while the conversation turned to blogging and Italy and life in general. I was riveting and there was coffee served. I was good to go. but soon, this weary girl needed a nap. And in true Italian fashion plonked myself on their couch and proceeded to have a little doze.
I was awoken later by a sideshow of images from their travels in Italy and the remainder of Europe and Bangkok. And I sat and sighed at the beauty. Sam and Lisa are both trained photographers after all and the photos are stunning. I sighed and ohh’ed and ahh’ed. I changed my mind and decided to move there forever. Hubby disagreed. Oh well. I’ll work on him.
And after a movie and a bit more chatter we set off home. Tired and full to the brim. Oh and of course, we had dessert. Apple pie and cream. But let’s not talk about that. And seriously, isn’t that about the way Sundays should good. Good people, good times and good food. Come to think of it Saturday looked very similar.
Living the good life. Yes sir’ree.
