- I will not skip breakfast and will eat it within 60 minutes of rising.
- I will not mindlessly eat. So I will not sit on the couch or drive or walk or type or anything while I am eating. I will sit at a table or sit down at least and eat.
- I will not not exercise. My promise is 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.
- I will not eat after dinner is finished of an evening unless it forms part of the daily eating plan.
- I will not reward myself with food. I will never eat because I deserve it or any other rot like that.

You're inspiring me darl, but so far I've managed to avoid it ;) There's a few iPhone apps for weight loss tracking, or you could just get one of those fandangled tickers and stick it on your page – and you can put how much weight you wanna lose, rather than putting up what weight you are now and what weight you wanna be. Hmmm, there's that inspiration muse again…

Good luck SCI! These are some great plans. Just remember you are not alone with all of this. Trying to get to my goal weight is something I have been doing forever.I am still trying to master the whole mindless eating thing. I had some success earlier this year with Weight Watchers. I wrote a post about my top five WW tips. You could check it out if you like.http://cootaitlees.blogspot.com/2010/02/top-five-ww-tips.html

Good goals. I need to make some of those myself. Good luck.

Well, if anyone can keep you on track, it's that Lucy.

Those all sound like very sensible things to give up! You're my inspiration – I'm wishing you lots of love and strength!

I admire your determination and am encouraged to follow in your footsteps. Next week. There are still 4 Tim Tams left in the packet…

Oh Mel, well done. Making the choice to NOT do all those things is a huge deal. And maybe also write a list of things you are going to be gaining too? And tracking of weight loss – I use Calorie King and a weight loss ticker. (And I challenge you to find a classy one. They are few and far between……..)

I have the pleasure of working with Dr. Brian Wansink, Director of the Food and Brand Lab at Cornell University and a world expert in eating behaviors. Wansink says, “The best diet is the one you don’t know you’re on.” The only way to achieve this success is by changing our environment turning bad eating habits into good eating habits. He studied eating behaviors through fun experiments observing people while eating and describes his findings in the book, “Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think.” It is a fun book and full of useful information of why, when, how, and where we eat. The book was a catalyst for http://www.mindlessproducts.com where you can find his “Thinware” which are dish sets proven to make people eat less because of shape, design, size and color. The book was also the catalyst for The Mindless Method, http://www.mindlessmethod.com. The only weight loss plan (NOT A DIET) endorsed by Dr. Wansink and based on all his 20+ years of research. Check them out. You will be most interested.Enjoy Better Living Through Less ThinkingTM
