This is the view from my front door and I think to myself. That better not be a freakin’ bush fire.
-
I like the country, and I like the bush but I love the beach. I don’t mind the sand, no matter how much of it there is, where it is and how it came to be there. I adore the beach.

It gets below 20 degrees and I whine about the cold in my summer clothes and light jacket. I immediately get a sniffle and I curse this ‘freezing’ weather.
-
I would rather be hot and sweaty even though it makes my hair frizzy.

I sometimes actually say she’ll be right or how ya goin’. And once I said ‘Crikey’ (which I am pretty sure is a registered trademark by now..!)

I refuse to pay more than $10 for a pair of flip flops and proceed to call them pluggas.

Despite being naturally pale and blonde, my skin almost always has colour on my face and arms. And on that note… Everything I own appears to have a SPF rating. Shampoo, lip gloss, foundation, shirts…

I am kind and generous and welcoming, if I do say so myself.

I dream of selling up and living the simple life on a beautiful piece of acreage just far enough out of town, raise some children and keep it simple.
-
Toads and snakes and spiders don’t scare me but navigating the Sydney traffic sure does.

When people talk about ‘Out West’, I know what they are talking about.

I just really, really don’t like Jarryd Haynes… go the Maroons!

Mad woman? You joining my clique?Funnily, I am not a born and bred Qlder, but can relate to everything you posted being a country girl, even if a Welshman.Does it make up for it if I haz the acreage just outa the city with the screaming brats runnin' wild?

All of the above.Except the last one, which I suspect refers to a footballer. I do not care for football, no matter what the shape of the ball.Still trying to convince the kids about the acreage, but think I've missed the moment – they like the attractions of the city too much now.I think I just qualify as born and bred – my family has been in Queensland since 1864.

rofl. See, snakes freak me out. But Sydney traffic, meh. I can curse and give the finger to a cabbie while avoiding a bike courier, a window washer and 54 pedestrians, no problems.
