Oh and yesterday, I met an owner who once had a tenant not pay rent because they had a been scammed on an international holiday. They arrived overseas and didn’t have flights home or accommodation, only a rental car. And it was the weekend and they had no cash. So they had to sleep in the car until they could make other arrangements to get accommodation and more importantly get home for their wedding at the property the following weekend!

And still they called to say they couldn’t pay the rent. Wow. Do you believe them? They did pay, by the way. What do you think?
