Is that a Cheshire Cat? Nope, It’s My Hair.

Now that I feel a little bit more confident in the new hair colour (it’s come down a lot from orange) here are some photos to demonstrate just what I was saying earlier. I know I said I wasn’t that brave… But I visited a couple of blogs tonight that were just so honest, so warts and all that I thought, Hell I can show the people my crazy hair adventure. It’s funny more than anything. So vanity out of the window, here we go.

First there was a pack of bleach… from dark auburn to this…

One pack of bleach, a blonding powder concoction and an ash blonde toner later and this is how it looked the next day… at work. Note the lovely headband donated by my very sheepish sister to hide the yellow roots. Bless her. (Did I mention I’m not giving it back, that I’m very attached to it now..? I didn’t? Well I am.) And yeeees, that is a Kit Kat wrapper in the bin. I was comfort eating ok!?

It was off to my cousin Bec, the super hairdresser for a speedy repair job! Which went really well given everything she had to work with. Bless her, the little super star. She coloured the roots to match the rest of the hair, used an industrial strength (in my opinion) toner, gave it an awesome cut and sent me on the way. The result of all that was this…

It’s a bit dark… But you get the idea. But than thanks to a week at the beach and some time spent in the pool the orangey, kinda copper colour toned down even more to this…

So it’s time to have a little fun and let the blogosphere see the new do… So I did what I did best… photo collage!

  1. You are lucky to have a hair dresser on hand to save the day. It looks great. Nice save.

  2. Thank gosh for your hairdresser! The photo collage looks great though :-)
