It happened… omg, it actually happened. I received my first blog award. Thank you to the lovely E from Whining at the World. To receive this award I must give it away and write about 10 things that you out there may not know about me. So here we go;
-
My husband proposed after we’d know each other for 6 weeks when I had just turned 20 years old. Yep. He asked, I said yes after a mere 42 days. a paltry 1008 hours. a minuscule 60,480 minutes. But 6 years on we’re blissfully happy and planning to start a family.

I’m addicted to Sex & the City years after the final episode aired. I started watching when I was 16 and now 10 years later (ten years… seriously. Sh!t), my boxed set and I hang out whenever we have the chance and the recent addition of the first movie has rounded off the collection as we await the May 2010 release of the second movie.

I have two siblings, a brother and a sister, a sister in law and a potentially but not officially but we’ll call him one anyway brother in law. My parents have been married for almost 34 years and actually knew each other growing up. We are a very close family. We love to be together. We’re family and we adore each other.

Speaking of family… I have over 60 first cousins. My dad is one of 11 siblings and my mother is one of 5. That’s a lot, we know, but it’s normal for us. There have always been masses and masses of cousins, second cousins and aunts and uncles around. Family, I’ve got plenty.

I love property. I was practically born into a real estate office. I think that property is the best way to wealth and the only way to house it once you have it. I had my first property at 18 and have never looked back. We clung with the tips of our fingernails to what we had when the interest rates hit 9.5% and the global financial crisis news was breaking. But we made it. And all that struggle was worth it. After all, who doesn’t want to be able to do what they want when they want to do it.

I live in a 2 year old home that Hubby and I designed and it has all grey walls. It was never my intention that they stay that way. I wanted a blank canvas. I wanted a muted, modern colour scheme that screamed elegant. Now I have grey. Lots of it. Remind me to dig out that old paint brush and roller, ok?!
- My favourite colour is blue. You know those ‘jewel’ type colours? The one with a great red, blue, green etc in vibrant but classic. This year for Christmas received a colbolt blue guess handbag. It’s awesome. I love it. Two of my favourite things. Blue and Bags.
- I want to be a photographer. Not professionally but I desperately want to skill level. I want to be able to capture crystal clear images with foregrounds and backgrounds and detail that is so life like it looks like it’s alive. I want that.
- I love the beach. Ever since I was a small child my family would holiday on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. I’ve told the beach story before briefly but what you didn’t know is how much it has impacted my life being such a beach baby… Even if it is just weekend and holidays. It was like having divorced parents but I had divorced locations. During the summer we would often pack up on Friday evening and lleave our 400 acre pineapple farm and drive the 60 minutes to the Sunshine Coast. We would be beach locals for the next few days than pack up and had home Monday morning. I was a country girl who lived on a farm and went to a school of 80 students and on weekends I would transform into a confident beach babe who knew the place like the back of my hand. It was the split personality of upbringings.
- I love the following blog by my friend Rianna whom I have known since I was 12 years old. Her blog is packed to the header with glamorous images, sparkley things and hot fashion photography. So Ri, I award this to you. Congratulations The Last Doll Standing.
