I Love Lazy Weekends

It doesn’t take much to love weekends, it doesn’t even take much to love lazing around doing nothing… But I have perfected the loving of Lazy Weekends. And THAT involves preparation, dedication and will power.

I make sure that I have every single thing I MUST DO done and schedule times next week for the items that can wait. I buy snacks and rent DVD’s. I ensure my internet account is paid in full and will not be subjected to the horrid Penalty Overtime Slow Down. I gather my family to me (Hubby, Miss Y – Check) and snuggle in for days of nothingness.

Than the dedication bit kicks in. You must push aside all thoughts of tasks that could be completed or items not yet checked on your to do list and really enjoy the company of family, movies and the copious amounts of salted or sugery snacks available (treating them as actual meal choices). You must be single minded in your focus to maintain the laziness of the weekend.

Followed swiftly by requiring the will power to resist the ringing of the five phones currently residing in our home, the drop by visits of additional relatives or door knocking sales men. No, thank you or I decline your request, work well in these situations – FYI before swiftly shutting the door, shutting off the mobile or closing down your inbox.

See… it’s serious work this lazy weekend thing.
