We’ve been sharing our home with a lovely, Japanese student for months now, Y came into our home from a difficult situation at her last host home. We were to be emergency care until they could place Y in a new home. Y was meant to stay for a couple of weeks… But we loved her immediately for her independence, vulnerability, joy and courage… We simply couldn’t let her leave. So we asked her to stay.
But now it’s time for her to return home; she’s even started packing. We’re sad. We’ll miss her. We are so damn grateful we met her.
