I’ve been looking for easy to wear summer dresses for a while now. AGES in fact. I didn’t want anything fussy or annoying. I just wanted to be able to throw the dress on and go no matter where I was headed. No mess, no fuss and ABSOLUTELY no thinking. But it proved a difficult task indeed {super difficult in fact} to find something that wasn’t ALL black that fit the bill. Wheeeen will people stop trying to make me wear black in summer? Wheeeen?
Last week I popped into the City Chic outlet with Mel and tried on ALL THE THINGS. It was great to be able to try things on, work out sizes and what I like on and what just didn’t work. Ordering online can be like Russian roulette sometimes. You spend money and it just doesn’t pay off, no matter how easy the returns process it’s disappointing.
But we try. It’s a challenge, right?
Anywaaaay, this post is about celebrating that thanks to City Chic’s outlet {I got two of these, one in an XL which fits better but there was only a L in this print}, thanks to the generosity of 17 Sundays and an item or two from ASOS I’m just about set. Okay, given that Saturday is March, I’m all set for NEXT year. Or the warm autumn days that we have in sunny Queensland. That’s okay. Plenty of wearing will be done. Heaps.
Dress – City Chic {L – sold out online, try in store}
Oversized Clutch – ASOS via Curvy Cartel
Hot Pink Wedges – via The Iconic {11}
Don’t you just love when a long search pays off!?

Finding a suitable dress is such a hit-and-miss thing – so glad you found something you like! My bugbear is finding dresses with actual sleeves, you wouldn’t believe how many sleeveless dresses and tops there are in the world :p
Me toooooo! And try the 17 Sundays {http://www.17sundays.com} ones {check out the BASIC section} they have sleeves and are beautifully cut and made. You won’t be disappointed.
Aaaaah I love this! Love the print and the colours and the colours of the accessories 😛 haha Love it all!
Thank you muchly lady. All the colours. Very you actually. 🙂
I LOVE those shoes!! This is an amazing outfit.
Thanks Steph! Oh yeah, these were an impulse buy one day at work. I KNEW I shouldn’t have subscribed to The Iconic’s newsletter. Haha.
I am always searching for summer dresses. To make it even harder, both last year and this year involve/d holidays to the other hemisphere in our winter! The hardest thing for me is finding something in cotton because I hate wearing synthetics in hot weather. And yeah, like you say, not black. I’ve got some nice cotton dresses from Modcloth but they can be a bit dressy.
Yeah this one is a synthetic and I prefer the more natural fibres. Try the 17 Sundays ones, they are great, well cut, beautiful and light.
