I noticed that a lot of people were finding the blog looking for plus size costume ideas. People love the superman/girl one built with a bunch of items in your wardrobe and an iron on transfer. Easy peasy. Around here we do a reasonable amount of costume parties. We love them, it’s fun, what can I say.
PLUS my sister in law Jess is born on Halloween so that’s as good as excuse as any, right!? So here’s a bit of a round up of my costumes from parties over the years. All done on the cheap. All something you can replicate if you want. None of the slutty kitten variety. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Have a bit of a giggle at the various hair styles. I’m not sure there are two the same…!
Here’s a pirate idea or two.
Red Riding Hood
Ballerina
Super Girl
Good luck and Happy Halloween!
Hi! I’m Suger; Chief Blogger at Suger Coat It. Blogging since 1901; love a casual ootd, taking photos + writing about things that irk or inspire me. I love wine and cheese, long days at the beach and spending time with my family. I make stuff for the internet; photos, create content, write copy and devise social media plans for personal brands, small businesses and bloggers. You know, living the sweet life.
Ballerina is very pretty and how cute is Kel as Buzz?!? Answer: Super.
Super cute. Thanks Gill.
Suger you all look so gorgeous BUT Why??? Before I made a fool of myself I looked up the meaning of Halloween on Wikipedia which has typically only been celebrated in the USA. Halloween has no meaning associated with us here in Australia.
Looks to me like another recent retail ploy to get money out of people. We didn’t celebrate Halloween when I went to school or when my children or grandchildren went to school so I’d be so interested to know WHY??? It’s close to Christmas, when parents are saving hard for presents, holidays etc. For retailers and the media to be promoting Halloween is purely putting excessive financial and emotional pressure on families at an already difficult time!
Hey Suger no way am I having a go at you, just using this opportunity to ask WHY?
Most of these photos are from theme parties, only one was worn to a Halloween party. But I love it, like I said, my sister in law is born on Halloween so we are celebrating her anyway, we usually dress up. It’s fun. I never have trick or treated though. Would love to give it a go. I enjoy it and that’s it as far as WHY goes. I think parents should just say no if they don’t want to participate.
The searches come from my American readers/searchers predominately but I still thought I could help out for the ladies searching on the topic.
Red Riding Hood is awesome! 🙂
I consider myself a bit of a costume queen with how i often i get into character.

Such a LOT of make up. Haha. And thank you. xo
Go the Buzz Lightyear! That is awesome. Love the ballerina too.
It’s a bit fab, huh!? Thank you.
You do make a very charming pirate wench!
Haha. I DO indeed. 😉
Okay someone needs to invite me to a costume party because I WANT to be a ballerina! <3 I think its a totes chic outfit even with out party to go too!
I wish I HAD a decent tutu skirt. This one I made from stripes of tulle and after the party it is a little worse for wear. Haha. But yes, more costume parties is a must!
