Sometimes there’s nothing special about outfits; they are just the clothes you wear when you go about your life. This day was one of those days. It’s easy, simple enough and comfortable. Sometimes it’s these kinds of outfits that just need to end up on the blog. They need to be blogged to balance the fancier, more complicated ones.
When it comes to casual I often reach for my chambray pieces. Lighter and easier to wear than denim, I love the pop of blue; the opportunity to add light layers and 90s vibe. As far as I’m concerned everyone needs a go to casual outfit theme. It just makes it faster and easier to get out the door. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I have a few; sneakers pencil skirts, stripes and anything tucked in. Do you have a style you always reach for? You will have, think about it.
Now about this outfit, it features my trusty chambray which has currently been re-released and a new season t-shirt from 17 Sundays, my boohoo skater that I love and strappy low wedges. I added this necklace that I picked up at a clothes swap, for me, the mix of metals ties all the colours together. Plus all in all it took me 7 minutes on my way out the door to throw it together, that’s what casual style is all about.

Your go-to spring/summer style, tell me, go!
Hi! I’m Melissa Walker Horn. Around here, they call me Suger. I’m the Chief Blogger and doer of all the things here at Suger Coat It. Blogging since 1901; I love a casual ootd, taking photos, and writing about things that irk or inspire me. I love wine and cheese, long days at the beach and spending time with my family. I make stuff for the internet over at Chalkboard Digital. You know, living the sweet life.
My go to is definitely jeans and a tee. Terribly unimaginative but easy and some days you just need easy!
Love a good jeans and tee combo, especially this year when I found some boyfriend jeans I loooooooved. The best.
Yep it is always the boyfriends for me at the moment too. They just seem easier for me to put together an outfit with than my skinnies!
Yes and comfier! Haha. Though when I put my skinnies back on I was like, well this is awkward, did I put on weight? 😉
