Take every vegetable and salad type ingredient, some couscous, olives oil, some herbs, salt and pepper and there you go. Mix them all together and serve on a plate. The bigger the better. The leftovers make excellent snacks and late lunches. Also great with cheese, eggs or all sorts of meats. It’s a big salad. It’s awesome. So awesome I named it after the Seinfeld big salad.
What are your favourite salad ingredients? Do you like your salads BIG?

ooh thats a good looking salad lady!
my fav salad at the moment is coles summer salad kit. its got coconut and mango chilli dressing. yum!
DUDE! I used the ingredients list on a bottle of that to make a recipe!! It’s on the blog. You’re welcome. xo
Generally, I like ceaser salads, but i’m not a huge fan of lettuce. I love boiled egg in my salads, but I hate olives.
Mmmmm, love ceasar salads. ADORE olives.
I love salads. I’ve had a hard time getting the Irish husband to eat them. Potato salad isn’t on his radar either. I have managed to get him there.
My favourite salad is actually great for winter as well. Spanish onion, zucchini, tomato all fried in a pan. I normally add things like four bean mix, or chickpeas, or sweet potato. You can mix it up to be whatever is in the fridge.
You should check out stonesoup blog for more quick and easy salads.
Mmmm. Fried off salad ingredients are THE BEST.
I need to make more salads. Yours looks great. Even with a lame seinfeld name (lol – can you tell I’m not a fan. 😀 )
YUM & YES! 🙂
There’s nothing better than a BIG salad.
I LOVE salad – all capital letters ,bolded out if I could – but sadly I don’t eat it very often anymore – because I’m single. I’ve had some experiences that weren’t on the good side w/ the bagged variety, and then to buy all the separate ingredients – they would just be thrown-out, because I wouldn’t get to finish them, living alone. When you say “big salad”, I always think of the woman ahead of me in the cafeteria line several years ago now, who piled everything and anything in a dish, not realizing it was by the pound …got up to the register and it was $7 for the salad alone! Her boyfriend looked at her with his mouth hanging open and she said, “It’s ah – a big salad.” 😉
Haha. Love that story! $7 salad IS a big salad.
Have you tried the Tupperware fridge mate’s? We make salad for the week and keep it in there. Barely throw out anything at the end.
I wasn’t raised eating salads so find it hard to eat them often. Mostly in the summer and usually they’re mostly fruit. Lettuce leaves of some sort, tomatoes, cheese either cubed or shaved, rockmelon, sometimes watermelon too, pineapple if I have any, mushroom, red onion, I’ve been known to include sultanas and sliced banana….
I also make potato salad and coleslaw, but not often.
Mmmmm. I love pineapple, mushroom and red onion in salads. Yummo. I also do a mad potato salad.
LOL My hubby Stu will LOVE the name of your salad – big Seinfeld fan! Looks very delish will give it a whirl!
Enjoy! So delish.
Big Seinfeld fan. BIG FAN.
I’ve been making a few of veggie mama’s salads lately, and they’re always yum! Also, I am totally into spinach, pumpkin, fried onion, pine nuts and feta salad!
Oh YES! Spinach, pumpkins and ANYTHING salads are my favourite.
