If you have rice, some eggs and some veggies you can eat like a king.

Good relationships take effort, care and patience. Bad relationships take everything you’ve got.

Drink lots of water. 2L a day is the guide. More if you’re the sweaty type.

If you buy magazines and never read them, you should probably stop buying them. Probably.

If you can’t sleep, stop trying so hard. Go find something else to do.

Sometimes people will do stupid things. Be generous. Next time it might be you stuffing up.

You can love a movie everyone hates. And hate those that everyone loves. It’s fine.

Same goes for books, people, places and food.

Sometimes the best vacation is pretending you went away and staying home.

I agree with so many of these! Especially the one about sleeping. I’ve been up since 4:30 because I’m a crap sleeper. I gave up trying to go back to sleep and I just get up and start my day.

    • Haha. Thanks! Nothing worse though then trying to sleep and not being able too. Might as well get up and get something done. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • I have three magazines sitting here on the coffee table that I haven’t opened yet.

  • Pretty good rules! Lol at the ‘more if you’re the sweaty type’!

    I love your ‘rules’ posts.

One of the best things I did years ago was to stop reading womens magazines. Whenever I pick up one in a waiting room nowadays it just seems so ridiculous.

    • Thanks! I was just siting there last night thinking, hmmm, it’s been a while!

Ahh yes, if only I would stop buying them even though I never read them..! They’re just so shiny. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love the one about stay home but pretending you’ve gone away. One of my favourite things to do.

    • We have a pretty much glass front door. Worst decision ever when it comes to this sort of holiday. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So true what you said about relationships. If only we all knew this at 16….

  • Good set of rules you’ve got there.

Some good points here. I stopped buying the weekly magazines years ago when I realised I was buying them just for the crossword puzzle. Now I buy crossword puzzle books. The Home Beautifuls etc? I borrow those from the library.

    • Thanks River. I still buy them. Goodness knows why, I NEVER read them. Well, maybe one in ten. I do sometimes buy them 2nd hand at the markets for a $1.

Hooray I regularly love movies and books that most others hate. ๐Ÿ™‚ Had nearly weaned myself off shiny magazines full of nothingness when I received two different subscriptions as Chrissy presents. Eek!

    • Haha. I don’t think it counts if you don’t buy them… They can stay unopened and be used as coasters or something. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great to hear. Sometimes it’s nice to be different.
