We make excellent tourists, what can I say.

When we decided that for this visit over the border that Hubby would come, immediately we thought about driving it. Neither of us had been much further south than Tweed so we were looking forward to the drive. See some stuff. Visit some places. Do the touristy things. The Big Banana at Coffs Harbour has to be proof of that, right?

Oh, what’s that, you can’t SEE the banana?

Oh yeah, Hubby didn’t zoom out.

Fail!

Take TWO.

And yep, that’s better, now with two of us!

Naaaaw, who ARE those glamorous tourists  So immaculately groomed and fresh-faced after their 3am dash from Queensland. Ugh. The pain people, let me tell YOU. And you know the secret to this glamour? For Hubby it’s the hat. Not that he has any hair to keep under control any more, that’s all gone, but still, it’s his secret weapon. The better secret weapon is a good maxi dress! I was sent this one from Virtu for editorial consideration {as they say}. I considered it. And well, I love it.

Apparently I woke up from napping in the passenger seat of the car, maxi bundled around me, sleepy and happy, turned to Hubby and said, Maxi’s are THE BEST to travel in. just the best. Before falling back asleep for another 50 or so kilometres. Two thumbs up from the dozey passenger, that’s got to be a good thing. And to prove it, I asked Dani to grab some photos when we got home from dinner during my stay {also wearing THE maxi} so you could see the details. Denim jacket because it was COLD. You’re welcome.

More on the road trip next week as we road test {see what I did there, I’m so clever, even from the road} a cute new dress from the 17 Sundays BASIC range. It’s stripy and short and adorable! I even took the photos on the edge of a cliff risking being yet another tourist that they winch out on reality TV. Gosh. The things I do for you guys.

Until then, tell me, what do you wear when road tripping?

  • I am a zero style road tripper! Just give me some comfy shorts and a hoodie and im good… i don’t always enjoy the stares when we stop places tho and i look like a banshee :/ haha xx

    • Haha. THAT is what I was trying to avoid this time. That’s me too. Then I discovered the maxi dress and well, I’m sorted. It works as a great car blanket too when the other passengers want the air con too high. 😉

    • I was, just for a moment. And I could have sworn I replied to this {and the other} comments already. Oh well. I had a GREAT time and we loved driving the tourist route and seeing all these things you hear about so often.

    • Thank you! Me too. It was just perfect, I wore it all this last week at the beach too.
