Well, not MY wedding dress. The dress I wore to the weeding on the weekend. It was a beach side ceremony followed by dinner at the RSL club nearby. I wanted a dress casual feel. There was much searching around and an attempt at borrowing thanks to the generous Chantelle.
Finally on the Tuesday {or Wednesday?} before the Friday wedding I went with the Virtu Spellbinder Maxi {out of stock online but available in limited stocks in store}. I wore a large. It was a little big but I REALLY wanted the length. A large is a size 22. It cost me just over $80 after I joined the members card. It retails for $89.95.
I combined it with beige Target wedges and a clutch which were $18 and $9 respectively and a necklace from Diva for $16. Later in the evening I ditched the necklace {it was a little small, I’ll have to get an extender}. For dinner I added my coral/orange cardigan from the Mix Apparel range.

I’ll be wearing this again. Dressy, casual, to the shops or for coffee. This dress is comfortable and easy to wear. The wedges I’m in love with. And the necklace is so funky it’s going straight into my regular rotation. It also goes to prove that you don’t need to spend a fortune on an ensemble for a special event. My total spend here was $138 including the dress, cardie, shoes, bag and necklace.
How much do YOU normally spend on a special occasion outfit?

I was looking at those wedges in target last week, but didn't get them :(I will have to go back now, you have made up my mind! They look too good for me not to go back and get them!does that make sense? I am too tired to be typing coherent sentences.

Love the colours and patterns of the dress!! Accessories treat it well!My bestie from school is getting married in 3 weeks, I finally found a dress, its a vintage floral print for $34.00 down from $189.00 oh yes I was soooo happy!! Shoes for $25 (thanks kmart) and yet to find some bracelets, its a high neck dress so still deciding on whether to go with a necklace or not!

You look fab!!I like to spend as little as I can but still look as good as I can.I need to check out the shoes at Target again. Haven't been there in ages.

Fabulous dress!Try finding shoes and a clutch, (necklace too) in the same pink that's in the dress. You'll have that put together model look.

@KateWallPhotography; high neck dress? Stick with bracelets and match the earrings to those. Shoe colour too if possible.

You look fantastic, I love the pattern on the dress, I love the wedges…..I love everything. You did very well with your spend.I try to spend as little as I can for a special occasion or any other time in fact. I am a mad keen op shopper and thrifter so I cringe at having to pay retial a lot of the time.

  • You look gorgeous!I love Target for shoes, have about ten pairs in my wardrobe and they're all so pretty!

  • Jenn

    You look gorgeous!

  • I love love love that dress on you! Those shoes are great too, Target has some REALLY cute shoes! I'm going to steal your necklace if I see you so HIDE it lol :)Happy Halloween!Karlene

  • I forgot to ask where you GOT the necklace!? That way I can buy my own and I wont have to mug you for yours lolKarlene

  • I am all about the cheap and chic! Often you can get a " cute " dress for less than $100 ( hell less than $50 is usually more like it! ) and use accessories to make it "special ". For my sisters recent 21st dinner i wore a $20 dress with a necklace from Diva and some gorgeous wedges that my parents had gifted me! A girl has to know how to stretch her budget and make do with what she's got…
