Most days of the weekend and well into the weekend you will find me in something like this. Comfortable, cosy {cool if the season permits} and classic. I love a good stripe, as you know. I find that the longer line of this blouse means that even if I have a big lunch, or my underwear isn’t up to par then it doesn’t matter. It hides a multitude of sins, that’s what I’m trying to say. Not check out my undies. Which you can’t see. Oh my, how did this happen…

This post is not about my undies. Sigh.

Anyway, to replicate this look use your favourite maxi skirt {or dress}, flats or boots and a blouse like the one above or simply layer a cardigan over a basic tee. You can use a range of colours and adding things like scarves and wrists full of bracelets and bangles to add interest. And remember, if you want really comfortable, go with a long line top. That’s my hot tip of the day.

  • I didn’t know Autograph made boots. Have been looking for some (with wide calf fittings) for yonks! Bugger… wanted some to wear to Blogopolis!

    • Yes they do! So do TS 14+, City Chic and online at SARA. All great for boots. For next time. 😉

  • between you and abeachcottage, I’m getting inspired to get some horizontal stripes going on my bottom half! Already have lots of tops, but loving the long skirts…

    • Check out the sales. I saw them at the Target one the other day for less than $20! Nice fit too. This one is an 18 and it has plenty of stretch and length. Happy stripy bottoms to you. 😉

Oh that is a great look, I love stripes and am embracing them again too. That look would make me look smart at school drop off, casual lunch with a colleague …yes, yes, yes

    • Thanks! And absolutely, it will work for whatever. Such a versatile look. This week I’m wearing it on a plane with a jacket and scarf to combat the Winter chill.

  • Love that skirt. I still haven’t gone for a maxi skirt, I’d love one but am not sure what to wear on top… or if I know what to wear I don’t own it yet either, so that makes for double the spending *sigh*. Anyways, looks great on you!

    • Thanks! Maybe we’ll give it a go over the weekend. They’re so comfortable and versatile.
