Every now and then I put out the call, a little heya how you doing out there. And errr, excuse my ignorance but what the heck is YOUR name type post. And this is it. I used to use certain figures in my Google Connect followers widget but that little prompt is gone soooooo I’ll just have to remember all on my own now. thank you for your support here. For being such a great little pack of cheerleaders. Now tell me, how long have you been here and do you have a blog of your own? I’ll pop by and say hello.

You DO know what a delurk is, right? It’s when me, the blog owner, calls out everyone lurking in the shadows {let’s say corners, it’s less creepy} of the blog, reading but not commenting. Visiting but going on their merry way unacknowledged. This is my chance to say hello, thanks for being you. You wouldn’t deprive me of that, would you? {yes, I’m not above using the guilt card!}

Delurk people!

It’s been a little quiet around here of late. Stop freaking me out that nobody can comment using Disqus would you.

  • Tara Lawley passos

Just wanted to say that I’ve been finding it very quiet over at the Vow…….maybe it’s something in the air. X

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Heck yes I do!

I think there is. I’m blaming winter and the rain of sickness that has befell everyone. Oh and I’ve been slack too. I know unless I’m out and about interacting, interaction here is a little slow. Tit for tat and all that.

  • Kim H

    You know me too;) xx

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Yeah I do!

  • BabyMacBeth

Beth, Beth Macdonald. You might know me from such blogs as BabyMac.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Oh god, you’re here because I was drunk and commented on your blog. Please don’t let me have been a total disgrace…. 😉

  • Mrs Catch

    *waves and blows kiss*

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Hello gorgeous!

  • Serialstyler Brisbane Australi

I am Serialstyler. I comment on the odd occassion, but generally just read your posts. I like to see how others live, see outside of my own little box. I blog at http://www.serialstyler.blogspot.com.au

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Oh heya, another Brisbane lady to add to the list. Hopefully we can catch up for lunch or at a meet up some day. You can meet the rest of the mad {and lovely} Brisbane and south east Queensland ladies and gents.

  • Ninja

I may have been here, or I may not have…..

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Ha! Total ninja move.

  • StaceyLeeGetonwithitalready

Hi, not sure how long I’ve been reading .. maybe a couple months .. pretty sure I found you through a ‘styling friends of sugar’ post, read often, I’m still finding my groove in the bloggy world but you can find me at http://getonwithitalready.wordpress.com. I’m officially ‘delurking’ lol Stacey-Lee

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Well heya Stacey-Lee. Another one that likes the Friends of Suger posts. You’re lucky, I almost canned them! Can’t wait to check out your blog and good luck finding your feet. You’ll get there.

  • Anke Bialas

No one puts Anke in the corner! I am happy to be in the shadows all creepy like 🙂
How long have I been following you now?…..has it been a year yet?

http://herbology.com.au is where I hang out.

I used to comment here and there but been super busy with book release stuff of late. When things calm down a bit I’ll pipe up again.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

It’s been a while now. The workshop was November was it..? Hmmm. Have totally forgotten… Gosh. That’s a bit bad. And a book release!! Cooooool, will pop over and find out more.

  • Kirsty

    “I was here 2012” 😉

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Haha. It’s waz here. 😉

      • Kirsty

Ah, yes! I’m really showing my age when I can’t remember things like that 🙂

        • Melissa Walker Horn

Heehee. Nah, being a smarty pants. 😉

  • ummm i dont know how long ive been here :/
but i dont think my presence goes unnoticed either, im not one for lurking here at suger coat it.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Haha. You’re SO great. I was just wondering HOW after all our Twitter conversations I hadn’t been on your blog. Sorry! I guess I assumed you were a twitter’er not a blogger. My bad. xo

  • Jolene

Sorry if this posted already, disqus doesn’t like me LOL…

I’m still reading :). I comment every once in a while, but you’re in my
feed reader so I read all the time!

My blog is lacking lately, but I blog when I can, just haven’t done much
in the way of outfit posts and recipes which is what I prefer to blog

    • Melissa Walker Horn

It worked! Sorry it took you a bit to rein in Disqus! I do appreciate the effort. Thanks for reading too.

Loving your blog, though I must admit I couldn’t help myself and just clicked on plus size shopping… It called to me. What can I say! 😉

  • shambolicliving

Janine from http://shambolicliving.com/ have been reading for a few months. Have just moved to a self-hosted site and was thinking of using Disqus – it does work doesn’t it?

    • Melissa Walker Horn

It does work. It can just be tricky sometimes and doesn’t load other times. But it’s loads better than the others I’ve tried. Which if I’m honest isn’t too many. But sheesh, changing them is HARD.

And thanks for reading. Your blog is beautiful, the template with those colours is lovely.

  • Lurkface McLurkenstein, reporting for duty!

I feel like I’ve been reading for ages, but I can’t remember how I found you. Maybe through Dani of Hello Owl? Now we’re Instabesties and that makes me happy.

(I’m glad you’re doing this roll call because I’ve just discovered a bunch of new blogs in your comments! Here’s mine: http://www.scarletwords.com )

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Haha. Me too. I just popped over to yours {even though you’re in my ‘rotation’ anyway. And I’m glad I did. The newest post is just so perfectly gorgeous. Words and pictures. SO gorgeous.

  • Jen

Delurking here from Boston, Massachusetts. I have been lurking for a while. I blog at http://www.losingtheshadow.com.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Well hello there! I’m glad you did. I’ll be right over to visit. 🙂

  • Seasidechik

I visit, and try to comment, but sometimes I get distracted and forget what I was supposed to be doing, and eat a muffin instead…. But, I am here.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Baaahaha. Welcome to MY world. Happens to me all the time. I’m like Dory from Finding Nemo.

  • Krystel Patterson-Nichols

I have been here for quite a while now…. I started when I found you on ChickChat and have been a follower ever since.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Heya Krystel, good looking blog you have there. 😛

  • Erika

Well Hi there, I’ve been hanging around these parts for a while now.
    See you next time

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Was just at your blog and realised I KNOW you..! From Instagram. We go way back.

  • Is there a comprehension test too? I’d fail, I skim read.
I visit almost daily, commenting sometimes. Okay rarely.
    Jeanie from http://www.inspiredwish.com

PS I wasn’t able to comment without logging into Disqus.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Haha. There might be. Thanks for visiting. xox

re: Disqus, do you log in with your WP id or facebook or something? And before or after you comment? Which is easier? Curious!

  • *waves* I’m not so much of a lurker, but I wanted to say hey anyway 😛

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Heya roomie! Can’t wait. Less than 2 weeks to go.

  • Maxabella

I think the word ‘lurk’ is the creepy bit. Shadows, corners, same, same. Lurk has underpants stealing connotations.

I don’t want your undies, but I do want your clothes!

And often I lurk ‘cos I hate commenting on my iPad and that’s mainly how I read blogs these days. The iTypos drive me a bit… lurky. x

    • Melissa Walker Horn

HA. Yes, lurking is all undie stealing implications and what not. Love your guts. You’re welcome to my wardrobe any time you’re in Queensland, it’s yours {holding you to ransom!}.

Oh yes, the old iPad fail. Do you remember the conversation we had at the Top 50 about your comments and being interesting/good or not. Well you had me all worried I just wasn’t any more. Thanks for clearing THAT up. 😉

      • Maxabella

Don’t ever think that or I will be very disappointed!! We are stronger than our made-up assumptions. x

        • Melissa Walker Horn

I know. I know. Paranoid me at work. Sooner or later I beat her down. Thanks for the reassurance. Sorry you had to do it. 😉

          • Maxabella

Fuckdatshit, lady. And don’t worry, I just tore you own on your facey page to keep you on your toes… love ya! I do! x

            • Melissa Walker Horn

Ha. Saw it, loved it. I know. It’s silly and so freaking trivial and all that. Sometimes I can’t help myself. A crisis of confidence of sorts. The facie thing, just plan begging.

              • Maxabella

You never have to beg, M. Just know that. x

                • Melissa Walker Horn

                  Thanks for the reminder. xox

  • Silly Mummy

Hiya… you’re in my reader, so I read you religiously, lol. I’m a mum who blogs over at Silly Mummy blog … http://www.sillymummy.com. I blog about me, me and me and my life – including my struggles and achievements. My son has autism, so I blog about that too.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

I just read your front page. I love the diversity in your blog and what a resource you are for other Mother’s with children with autism. Great work!

      • Silly Mummy

Thanks. I think bonding online with other mums can help as much as professionals do.

        • Melissa Walker Horn

Absolutely. It’s a community, no matter where it’s located.

  • Claire Stephens

sometime commenter, full time reader (bloglovin helps with that as does facebook). I type my musings at http://www.owlteapot.blogspot.com.au

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Thanks Claire. I’d recognise that fringe anywhere. {it’s fringe envy, honest}

  • steph selmes

    New reader! Steph

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Hi Steph! Welcome.

  • Sarah Proud Mummy

I think I comment more on your facebook page than I do here, sorry bout that. But I love love love your blog.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Whatever works for you! Thanks for joining in and thank you. xo

  • I’m just new to your blog. but I follow you over on fb (salwa) and twitter (_salz_). My blog is http://www.salzdummyspit.blogspot.com.au hope to see you around. 😀

    • Melissa Walker Horn

You will! I just popped over and comment exploded on your blog. Haha.

  • Mandi (That Book You Like)

Hi there! Hey, you know what? I think I am a true lurker! I’ve read your blog for a while, but I don’t think I’ve ever commented… sorry 🙂

I love what you do though!

I’d love it if you’d like to pop over and see me at That Book You Like… (www.thatbookyoulike.wordpress.com)

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Thanks so much! What a lovely thing to say. And I have popped over and I think I’m in love. I adore finding new books to add to my reading list. Even if i am crap at book clubs. 😉

      • Mandi (That Book You Like)

Thanks so much for coming by! So nice to have more bookish people to share new reads with 🙂

        • Melissa Walker Horn

You’re so welcome. That My Hundred Lovers one has got my attention. Might have to find that one in the iTunes store.

  • river

I should probably do a delurk request, my google thingummy says I have 120 followers, but I don’t get that many commenting. I don’t mind, but sometimes I wonder if they have blogs that I might be interested in reading….

    • Melissa Walker Horn

i think, yes do! It’s a great chance to visit and get to know the people reading your blog.

  • Janet Camilleri

Hiya, I’ve been following for a month or two, love the style posts on a Friday! I blog at http://footprintsaustralia.com/blog.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Hiya Janet. Me too! I was considering stopping them as people just weren’t interacting {commenting or visiting the guest bloggers}. But you might have just given it a reprieve. 😉

I’m heading to your blog shortly. Thanks for the link.

  • Jane @ Hesitant Housewife

Hello!!! I’ve left a couple of comments, and also shared one of your posts over on my FB page 🙂 I blog at http://hesitanthousewife.net/
    Love Jane xx

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Hi Jane, well thank you VERY much. All very much appreciated. I’ve just been on your blog, LOVE.

  • Workingwomenaus

I’ve been reading for about 9 months but I read on my phone and Disqus is tough to comment from on phones. This comment has taken me 6 tries! I generally engage on Twitter and FB. I’m here from http://www.workingwomenaustralia.com.au

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Haha. Thanks for the dedication to delurking and the interaction on fb and twitter. I love that just as much, promise. xox

  • Melissa

Ahhh, it’s finally working!! First few times there was no box here…

I have no idea how long I’ve been reading… I just stop by when I have a few minutes & see it pop up in my Facebok feed 🙂 I have a couple of blogs, one is http://www.letterwritingchallenge.com.au & another is http://www.melissawrites.com.au 🙂

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Omg, you’re all kinds of wonderful for trying again. I love your letter writing challenge and am about to pop over to the second blog. Thanks for delurking. 🙂

      • Melissa

Thanks Melissa 🙂 If you have any suggestions for the challenge, please let me know 🙂 I’m glad I finally got the comment to work.

  • Miss TikiBoo

I read frequently, and comment occasionally, so I’m not so much of a lurker really. My blog is sadly neglected though: http://www.tikibooblog.com

    • Melissa Walker Horn

      Thanks Miss TikiBoo! xox

  • I read all the time, but rarely get to comment. I’m not sure how long I’ve been reading but it’s been awhile! My blog is http://beckyandjames.com – though, I’ve been sick and it’s been neglected for the past few weeks.

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Hello lovely! Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Me too. It sucks. Feel better soon.

  • Naomi S

Hello. I only discovered you a month or so about you, but have read every post since … Loving your blg … And you! I don’t have a blog, just an addiction to reading other peoples. Naomi xxx

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Thank you so much! You’re lovely. And, bonus info time, my second name is Naomi. There you go. Now you know everything about me. 😉

  • I lurk. I read. I rarely comment because everytime I’m reading I’m *meant* to be doing something else 🙂

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Haha. So more stealth than lurk. Thanks for reading. 🙂

  • Hey, you’re in my Google reader too, and I read you pretty regularly… but like so many others I read on my iPhone and don’t comment all the time- but I love your work suger!:) And I blog over at http://slightlymoredepththanateaspoon.blogspot.com.au/

    • Melissa Walker Horn

Thanks Robyn!! I’m glad you do. I wonder sometimes if there is an easier way for comments on the phone. I know I would love to know for the reading i do on my phone… Hmmmm.

  • Twentyfivewords

I’ve only just found your blog, about a month ago-I can’t remember where! But I am very much enjoying getting to know you…yes, in a hiding in the corner kinda way. I have just started a blog-twentyfivewords.blogspot.com.au but it isn’t fancied up yet but feel free to have a squiz if you like! See ya, Tash

    • Hey Tash, I think it could be twitter or Instagram… If I have the 25 words thing right in my head. Anyway. Welcome. Enjoy and I’ll be right over to check out your blog. 🙂

      • Twentyfivewords

You are on your game lady. Yes. I think it is Instagram. 🙂

  • Bel

Your in my Google reader and I have visited for a couple of years. I comment sometimes! I do have a Blog too, which mainly my friends read at the moment, over here at http://www.amumsreality.wordpress.com

    • Hi Bel, thanks for de-lruking! I’ve seen you around these here parts. Can’t wait to check out your blog. 🙂

  • Renae

Hi Suger. I’ve been here a few months and I comment here and there. I like the variety on your blog, as well as your regular topics. I blog at abeerawhineandthespirit.blogspot.com.au but am currently in the proccess of switching over to wordpress. Any tips? Looking forward to hanging around.

    • My ONLY tip is hang in there. I have no idea how many times I just wanted to bail and go back to Blogger or just cry. Hang in and it’ll be a great move in the end. Lots of great options in the WP camp.

Thank you! I like the variety too. Keeps me sane. 😉

  • Alittlespacelikehome

Hey there, I have only been followin g your blog for a little while now, I think I stumbled over after chatting on twitter. Anyhoo I love your blog. It’s so easy going as I imagine you are. I blog at http://www.alittlespacelikehome.com and hopefully I will get an opportunity to say ‘hello’ at Nuffnang. Can’t bloody wait. Chow.. Mandy.

    • Thanks! I’m glad you did pop on over. Looking forward to Sydney. It’s going to be a FAB time!

  • Hello! You obviously know I read your blog 🙂 Saying hi anyhow!

  • Well, I am not really delurking, because I comment here a fair bit! I personally think Disqus is far easier to use than both the WP and the Blogger commenting forms, just a bit of feedback! x

    • Yes, yes you do Hannah. And thank you for that. Welcome. 🙂

Thanks for that. Which browser do you use?

  • Jema

Hello 🙂 I’m a lurker… I have been lurking commentless for a few months now. I don’t have a blog of my own, I just like to read other people’s! I will try to comment sometimes now, it always felt a bit intrusive!

    • Haha. Hi Jema the lurker. Don’t feel intrusive AT ALL. You’re always welcome. 🙂

  • lisa | renovating italy

OMG do I LURK??? I visit and say hi or ciao…come visit me! x

    • Yeah, apparently! 😛
Will do. Soon. I hardly ever get to Brisbane any more unless it’s a flying visit.

  • Annika Ooh

Hi, I found your blog a few months ago – kind of a combination between following Seven Cherubs blog and lover/addict of Mix Clothing and saw you on the Mix website alongside Naomi. You have a fab blog and I love reading along as I am also a Gympie gal. Love your blog because you are showing you and have some great posts. Keeping me engaged. Keep coming back 🙂

    • I love this comment, thank you!! such lovely things to say. 🙂

I didn’t know you were local, we should have coffee or lunch one day! If you’re up for it, just email me. I love pulling my local bloggy friends even closer. Email me. It would be great.
