In Queensland it’s bye bye boots time. I’ve been stubbornly wearing two new pairs of boots that I picked up at the end of season sales because I WANT TO. No matter if the days are already reaching a sunny and warm 28 degrees. I especially wanted to get a wear or two {three would be nice} from my new SARA boots which I picked up on sale for $49!! They were a hot tip from 2 Many Cupcakes in the first Aussie Curves post. I ordered a 12 because it was the only size left and I got wait listed. When they arrived I almost danced! They’re all kinds of wonderful and just what I have been looking for.

Last week it was Muster week in town. The Gympie Music Muster is held in the Amamoor State Forrest about 20 minutes from my house {some of which you travel on dirt road. Gasp! I know, so country}. It started in 1982 on a cattle property with the band The Webb Brothers {local guys who hit a bit of country music fame} and their friends camping out and celebrating all things country music once a year. These days it’s an all in music lovers, camping, super party where over 40,000 people go, camp, party and listening to loads of music, bush poets, talent competitions and more. It’s pretty fun.

But this year we didn’t go. For the first time in a while. It felt weird not be there. Especially considering Kenny Rogers was there this year. There’s something rather surreal about Kenny Rogers being in a place you basically grew up in that does a girl’s head in. It makes you wanna dress a little cooooountry. Talk a little slower. And get your boots on. Muster marks last chance boots around here. Who am I to disagree?

No really, boots weather, why are you leaving me?

I remember travelling on many dirt roads as a kid – I lived in the country – and my teeth would chatter.

Ahh yes, the old dirt road corrugation thing. I know that.
They absolutely are, right? Thank you. xox

HA. I absolutely do, right!? Wherever did I develop it. I adore blue. Don’t even get me started. So enjoy. And thank you. :)

Jeans and white button tee, it’s a classic you can’t go past. I love the scarf and those boot scooting boots. On to other matter I can’t believe you forsaked the gambler and didn’t go to the muster.

I feel like I should have been wearing this all year long. Too bad I only got the boots a couple of weeks ago. The scarf was $13 from BIGW and I have it in two colours. Such a great buy. I know right? I feel a little weird about not going just for the historical factor. I really must just go and do these things.

I will trade places with you. You can come here and wear your boots for another 6 months since our fall is just starting. I will come and enjoy the nice Australian weather :)

Haha. No deal! As much as my boots, I love Summer MORE!

  • sheribombblog

I would have liked to have gone to the Muster this year, especially to see Kenny! I’ve never actually been but always want to go. One year I’ll have to come up and you can show me the ropes!

    • http://sugercoatit.com/ Melissa Walker Horn

Yes, OMG, yes! I would love this. Apparently they are going bigger and better next year, maybe they’ll have Dolly too! Haha. I should have gone, been kicking myself since. Booo.
