I’m a black dress any day of the week kinda girl. Heels too if I know I’ll be more office real estate girl then traipsing around the paddocks real estate girl. But when it comes to going out I whip out the extra high heels and make a night of it. Most of the time a large bun comes into the equation too. In fact it seems strange to be taking these photos in my office in the afternoon, but such is the nature of the season {damn you Winter}.

Speaking about Winter can we just take a moment and admire the high gloss white sheen that is my legs at the moment? Almost snow white, especially with all that natural light pouring in the window. I don’t think I’ve ever been paler in my whole life. Take that tans! Anyway. What was my point. This outfit is just about perfect for dinner out. Even a party where the dress code is a little vague. It works everywhere and can be easily replicated. Give it a try. you won’t be disappointed.

I like to think of this look as a little bit sixties. I need more eyesliner though. There’s something just a little bit Mod about it, don’t you think.  It’s probably just the cut of the Alessandra dress. Which despite the fact is big on me now is still one of my favourites. Classic dresses are a bit like that, don’t you think?

  • Super cute!!

  • Looking hot!

  • Dress and shoes are great but LOVE your makeup…. Did you do it yourself?

    • Thanks Deb, and yes I did.

It is Maybelline New York foundation, Benefit POREfessional and Napoleon blush with Raspberry Pie lip butter from Revelon and stacks of the Benefit They’re Real mascara. My go to ‘dressy’ look at the moment.

Don’t you look very nice!! I like this. Very stylish and I love the shoes!
I don’t think you need more eyeliner though, but you could darken your eyebrows a shade or two. Temporarily, use your mascara to do this. Wipe off excess mascara onto a tissue, then lightly run the brush over your brows.
For a more permanent colour, you can get them tinted to match your hair. (You can do it yourself too, with an old, clean mascara wand, dip it in your hair dye and wipe off excess before brushing it on your brows. It’s tricky, you have to be sure it won’t run, you don’t want to be damaging your eyes.

    • Thank you River.

Oooo, great tips. I do need to do something with my brows, they’re on the list. A bit of tint won’t hurt at all.

  • Love this look! And I do love the elegant pale skin too. x

    • Thanks Kim-Marie. I haven’t been this fair since I was 2. It seems a love of the beach took care of that. It’s nice for a change.

  • You’re looking very Adele here – totally beautiful! I personally think that for evening you could go a bit thicker on the liner. I also think a little volume at the crown before making your bun would perfect the whole look. regardless, you look lovely as-is x

  • FYI I kinda think you’re an awesome fox! x Thanks for linking up and making my post popular, xoxoxox
