I wonder about you guys sometimes. How you’re doing, what life has had in store for you. Are you happy or sad or somewhere in between. I talk about myself a lot but you matter, promise. I’m not one of those blogger’s who can be all zen with the whole ‘if no one read my blog, I’d be okay’. I wouldn’t be. I love people, interaction, in a lot of ways validation. You are my people. The community of wanders of the interwebs who found their way here somehow. And I love you for it.

I’m proud of us. This group of awesome nerds {yeah yeah, I pinched that from Pitch Perfect} are welcoming, full of love and generosity  You offer support to each other and to me on a daily basis. I’m proud of the people you are. Hubby and I may have built this space with content but you make it home. You’re like the cuddly soft furnishings or something. A warm blanket on a cold day, air conditioning when it’s hot. I hope you are well. I hope you feel the love. I hope you feel safe here. Welcomed and appreciated. I hope you never forget that no matter how busy I get.

You see, there was a time when I could pop on over to everyone’s blogs every couple of days to see how you were doing. That was when blogger pretty much linked me straight to your door. And there were much less of you. I keep a bookmarks folder on my desktop of your blogs and sites. If you ever leave a link, share something with me from your site I add it to the folder. I miss that. I intend to do it more often. So I thought, it’s time to update that bookmarks folder. There are, after all, a lot of new people here lately.

How did you come to be here? Do you blog? Are you ok?

  • No idea how I came here – it’s been a while now! I’m doing ok, thanks for asking ;-). 2012 was a bit of an “annus horribilis” but I’m glad to say 2013 is looking a lot brighter already!

Oh, and yes I blog – at Redland City Living which I started in November 2012 – I love it – am having a whale of a time!

    • I’m glad that 2013 is looking up for you. Great news indeed. And I always love to hear of people enjoying their blogging. I forget to enjoy mine sometimes, but it doesn’t last long. 😉

  • PS Loved your post on Styling You so much, I bought the TS Virtu black dress!!! Can’t wait for it to arrive!

Melissa, you are the sweetest blogger I know of and your community here is so inspiring. Not sure how I found you…but ages ago and I think I could be your number 1 stalker because you are such a lady about everything and write so beautifully. I really must get over to your town soon for that cuppa…!

    • Well thank you very muchly. The people here are what makes it great. Thank you for your kind words.
I look forward to that cuppa too.

I found your blog when someone promoted your series on confidence. I got a lot out of it 🙂

I do blog, craft blog, and often wonder about making it more general. But I don’t know how that would work, so I’m just thinking at the moment 🙂

    • Oooo, that was a great way to find me. Thank you. I’m really proud of that series. If only I could rewrite it that way I hope too for a workbook. I’m a bit blocked at the moment.

That makes sense. I take stock every now and again to figure out what’s next for me.

  • I think I found you through Styling You? Can’t remember. Always read your blog these days you are cheerful and enthusiastic and I am often morose and lazy hehe. I do blog, I don’t know what I want out of it really but I enjoy it. Mostly. I am ok, like Janet we had a very dramatic 2012 so hoping 2013 is better or at least calmer.

    • Haha. Thank you! Love that.
And what is said about blogs is the best bit. If you enjoy it, that’s what matters.
Good luck to you for a lovelier 2013!

  • You know I’ve been around for quite some time I can’t remember exactly how I found you. I’m always picking up what you’re putting down and you know I love ya.

You know I blog and I dream and plan big and you’ve been ever so fabulous in helping and supporting me over the years. I’m ok, I’m generally always ok even when life is trying throw me boulders to catch, I’m always looking for the onwards and upwards and chasing happiness and joy in my life.

    • Yes you have. You’ve been here for AGES. Haha.
And you are more than welcome. Always happy to help. xo

I found you via Danimezza’s “Polly Dolly ” ( which I really miss ) about 2 years ago, and I’ve been hanging out ever since! You asked on Facebook whether I have a blog and i do, which you can find right ! http://WWW.amywellsblog.blogspot.com.au

    • One of the other girls took it on, did you hear? IT LIVES! Haha. I’ll get you a link if you like.

      Yes! Thank you for the link. I’ll check it out after the madness of this weekend has passed {probably while nursing a hangover on Sunday to be honest. Ha}

      • Amy Wells

If you could get me a link that would be fantastic because I msged Dani and said I would love to hjost Polly on my blog, and she told me it had already been picked up by someone else, but she never ended up getting back to me with a link 🙁

  • I have been moseying on over here for about a year now – usually for a breath of fresh air. I believe I found you through Google. Apparently you rank high in both the search engines and the popularity contests! Seeing you blossom through each and every post is truly inspiring. Suger is hard to resist.

    • Thank you. A breath of fresh air. Love that. And gah, I got a little funny in the belly when you said popularity contests, those things ALWAYS make me nervous. Haha. Darn high school. Thank you for your kind words. I may just pinch that last line and launch a world wide marketing campaign or something. 😉

I think I found you through another blog.

I like your stuff as it is different than most.

I blog as a stress relief. Don’t want it to get too big or I will feel pressure and I don’t want something creative to become that.

    • Thank you Patrick. Welcome on board. I know what you mean about adding pressure on yourself or whatever.

  • Jen

I have been struggling. We are having a winter that will not end here in Massachusetts and it is bleeding into my soul.

I have been reading you for a while.

I blog to get the crazy thoughts out of my head. It is a form of therapy.

    • Oh Jen, I don’t know how you do it. I crave sunshine like water. Hope it finishes up soon.

Great and great! Blogs are excellent for that.

  • cathg1g2

Loving reading your stuff, found you via Dani or Nikki, who knows, some great fashion advice, upbeat etc etc

  • lisa | renovating italy

yep fabulous and thanks for reminding me! xxx

we are all good ( a tad cold but good) and finding our feet in this new world. Everywhere we go Sammie keeps saying ‘wait till Melissa see’s this!! she’ll ……herself’ xxx

    • Yay! How could you not be, right!? The best. I cannot wait. Seriously. I cannot wait to be wandering the streets with you all showing me your new home. It’ll be a MY dream come true.

  • I love the interaction too, it’s like a weird sort of friendship. You may not know these people well, they may be across the planet, but you still care for them. Well, that’s how I feel.

And i’m not doing the best, but i’m still alive, which is the main thing.

    • Haha. SORT OF a weird friendship. It totally is. The best kind. Like you for example. I’m so proud to have you as my friend and I care for you deeply. That said it’s especially important for me to say head up lady. Take care of yourself. Follow the advice of those in the know. xo

  • I’m glad to hear it!

Best explanation of how you found this blog yet! Thank you. And your dinner group sounds like fun, the shopping trips too.

And thank you for that. I like to think this blog is just like me in real life, but in text and photos.

I appreciate the feedback on the ads, I try hard to filter through things that would be of interest. So that probably makes me happiest of the whole lot!
